DIY Decor: Paper Flower Ball

I got the idea for trying a paper flower ball from Project Wedding. This was just to test it out to show my sister, who is getting married in July and we are doing our own decorations. I simply used a glue gun, a styrofoam ball, Q-tips, scissors and paper.

I rolled the papaer around the Q-tips.

Collected a bunch.

Stuck them in the styrofoam ball.

I didn't take a picture of the finished product, I brought it to New York with me to show Rachel at her bachelorette party but it looked great. If I choose to do this, or have any time to do it again I will upgrade to color paper!

Banana Bread Pudding

I found a few recipes online and took a bit from each. This is what I came up with:

6 slices of cinnamon bread
4 eggs, beaten
3 cups milk
2 ripe bananas, mashed
3/4 cups sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Break the bread into pieces and put in a bowl with the milk for a few minutes.
3. Combine eggs, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla in a bowl and beat until well mixed. Pour over bread and milk, and mix it all up.
4. Put in baking pan and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until edges are golden.

And it turned out great! Here is the photographic evidence:
A slice of the heavenly bread.

Ripped up bread in the bowl.
Combine the ingredients.

Fresh out the oven.

Delicious bread pudding!

Inside the Exterior: 22 Colby

This is the house I grew up in! My Mom recently revamped the curb appeal, giving the house fresh blue siding, and jet black shutters. Nice job Mom!

Do you see my car peeking into the frame on the left? That's the "Party Lexus."

22 is always our family lucky number.

The dining room makes me think of Christmas, Easter, and Sunday night dinners with the family.

Beachy Bachelorette Party

This weekend we had a bachelorette party for my older sister Rachel. 10 girls, including the bride to be, trekked out to the Hamptons from all over the country to be there for this exciting occasion. Her friends from high school, college, me and my other sister stayed in her friend's house in Sag Harbor.

We put together a scrap book with pictures of us with Rachel over the years. It was so great!

The first page of the extensive scrapbook. Totes ador.

The view from the backyard of the Civetta's house!

It was raining most of Saturday, so we went shopping in Sag Harbor.

I should specify, we went window shopping. I don't think any of us bought anything, except ice cream!

Rachel, about to enter the chains of marriage.

Tears of joy!

Theresa Explores: Sag Harbor, NY

This weekend I bipped over to the Hamptons for my sister's bachelorette party! We caroused the shops in Sag Harbor and I obviously lugged along my amazing new camera.

I snapped pictures whenever I was inspired.

This was at the Shell Shop.

Lots of shells to choose from. I purchased 3 sand dollars for $1 each. I intend framing each one and hanging them in my beachy decor room.

Scarves are my new obsession! I have 5 and I want 500 more!

We each threatened to buy a new dress to where to dinner that night. But no one did. I enjoyed the sequined leopard print dress, it is so my style!

Down by the Bay

We went down to the shore this morning at low tide.

Needless to say the view totally rocked! Pun intended.

I found these stones - they are my color scheme and inspiration for my beachy bedroom. I can't wait to get decorating!

DIY Decor: My Messy Room

This is the bulletin board in my room. I need an entire wall of cork board so I can put up all my STUFF. I love saving random papers and letters and postcards and wrapping paper and my own work.
For example - this project I recently did while watching South Park episodes on my Wii Netflix won't have any space on my board!

When my sister and I were driving back from Cape Cod we stopped in Pine Hills to see the HGTV Green Home! And there it was!
Click here to read about the home and enter the sweepstakes.
Me standing on the porch. We couldn't get in because tours are not available on Mondays.
So we wandered around outside, the patio sure looked stunning. haha.

Three Sisters

We were driving through Eastham, MA and we passed a sign that said "Three Sister's Lighthouses." I was with my sisters so I said hey! Let's go take pics!
Here is the history about the Lighthouses
Me at my respective lighthouse.

Destination: Provincetown, MA

On our Cape Cod getaway we visited the infamous P-town.

My sisters Katherine and Rachel being goofy!

The crew walking down Commercial Street. We bought lots of sweatshirts from Cuffy's at discount prices! The were some fabulous bargains. I will post pics of me in my new loungewear once I find my scrubby appearance suitable for posting.

I saw these in a shop - I intend to find some driftwood tomorrow, purchase some paints and stencils, and get to work on these myself. Perhaps mine will just say "beach" or "boardwalk." But I really like "Cape Cod."

Provincetown Pleasures, Artistic Treasures

I took this picture whilst wandering the streets of Provincetown. Then I was looking in the Cape Cod Magazine and I came across an amazing artist.
His name is Hans de Castellane, and he has some great pieces of art. Check him out!
There is the shop I took a picture of! Isn't his depiction of the scene so much more fun and vibrant? Awesome.
His work info:

Mini Golf Gals

This is the Mini Golf place I used to go as a kid on vacation in Cape Cod. We went back here in May 2010 and took pictures on the old course.
The Game Barn! Rainy days can be wasted away on the Cape in this mini arcade.
My sisters and I on the mini golf course next to the big goofy rabbit.
This is a piece of artwork in the Gift Barn - it is similar to this one:
I hope to make my own pieces of art with these sea-green color scheme for my New England beach theme bedroom. One day. And I will blog about it heavily this I promise.
